'I am proud to be a Muslim' says Bella Hadid as she graces the cover of Porter magazine

20 year-old supermodel Bella Hadid stars on the summer cover of Porter magazine, and has opened up about her Islamic faith and her family???s roots in the accompanying interview.

Photographed by Terry Richardson, the Instagram sensation discusses what religion means to her and her family, explaining that President Trump???s immigration ban in January felt personal for the Hadids.

???He was always religious, and he always prayed with us,??? she says of her father, the Palestinian-American property developer Mohamed Anwar Hadid.???I am proud to be a Muslim.???

???My dad was a refugee when he first came to America, so it???s actually very close to home for my sister and brother and me,??? she added.Bella, along with her mother, the Dutch model Yolanda Foster, her sister Gigi and brother Anwar, joined the ???No Ban No Wall??? march in New York, carrying signs that read, ???We are all humans.???

Bella and her supermodel sister have over 41 million followers on Instagram between them, and the 20 year-old also used the interview as an opportunity to remind fans that, despite being very similar, they???re not twins.

"People think we"re the same and that we"ve been working just as long, but I"m two years behind her," she said."I still have a long time to catch up!"

Of their relationship, Gigi, who dates the Bradford-born One Direction star Zayn Malik, previously told The Telegraph, ???It???s amazing to have family in such close proximity in this industry.I can look across the room through all the craziness and have that sense of home, but I also realise that it???s not normal.I feel very lucky.I???m very protective, but I try to play it cool.I try not to be on top of her because I know that I learnt a lot of the best things in the first couple of years on my own.???

???We???ve been best friends since we were kids,???Bella told us.???We fought, obviously, when we were teenagers but by the time we were 16 we realised that we have each other and that it can get lonely out there.Now, if we???re having a hard time at work, we can just walk to the other side of hair and make-up and see one another.???
