With just one month to go until the release of the latest film in the franchise, Star Wars mania is officially upon us.It seems only right then that the fashion world, which has taken so much inspiration from the films over the years, get in on the action and try and go a little good in the process.

Cue 10 London-based designers who have created Star Wars-inspired T-shirts and sweatshirts that will be sold exclusively at Selfridges, with all proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Hospital.T-shirts will be priced at £35, sweatshirts at £55 and will be available from November 19.

Agi & Sam, Bobby Abley, Christopher Raeburn, Claire Barrow, J.W.Anderson, Nasir Mazhar, Peter Pilotto, Phoebe English, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Thomas Tait are the designer labels that have mined the sci-fi films for inspiration.

Additionally, each designer has created two catwalk looks that will be auctioned off at www.starwarsfashion.london on November 26, with all proceeds also going to GOSH.

We caught up with Christopher de Vos and Peter Pilotto, the design duo behind Peter Pilotto, to ask them all about the project.

Why did you want to be a part of this project? It was part of our childhood, Star Wars has shaped our aesthetic and love it for its costumes. It"s is often a reference for our designs.

What are your favourite Star Wars films in the franchise? The first that was aired, a new hope, which was released in 1977.

Favourite characters?Darth Vader and C3PO.

Any Star Wars memories from childhood?Trying to create a light sabre out of a torch light and clear schoolbook cover - it never worked!

How did you approach your designs for this project? We were looking at the excitement of when the Millennium Falcon accelerates into light speed.

Explain the catwalk looks you have created - and also the limited edition sweatshirt and T-shirt you have designedReally based on the light speed acceleration which we translated on to a printed sweatshirt and t-shirt and a jacquard woven dress plus an all in one jersey lurex jumpsuit
